At A Novel Idea (or ANI for short), our mission is to create communities of people just like you: brave storytellers who know that connection and creativity are the very best things in life.

For young people, our classic ANI Novel and Short summer camps make storytelling fun, and turn reluctant writers into fluent communicators. At the end, every single writer is a for-real published author. Stick that on your resume as a non-comparative measure of your success, baby!

For adventurers, ANI WordTravels take you to the places where your stories come alive: the wilds of Ireland, the coast of France, and even the Redwood forests in California. Together, you’ll work with writers like you for a week to nurture a creative practice and finally build that muscle and tend to your whispering creative voice.

And for those who have lived a big, wonderful life and keep meaning to write their stories down, ANI’s Tiny Stories comes to your community to sketch the essence of those stardust memories with you. We use creative technology, playful facilitation, and, of course, a community of friends and family to bring human connection to the page.
